THE ART OF TENNIS EMPHASIZES: BREATH, FORM, VARIETY, COOPERATION AND GRACE.
BREATH:
By connecting your breath to each stroke (inhale racquet back, exhale racquet through) your body will become more relaxed, your mind will become more present and it will allow you to feel your tennis form move free and easy as one whole body unit.
FORM:
Five simple movements (sit, turn, step, lift, throw) while maintaining posture and balance make up the foundation of the tennis form.
VARIETY:
We study all the grips (Continental, Eastern Forehand, Eastern Backhand, Semi-Western and Western) and the proper spins to be used with each, giving you a greater variety of shot selection.
COOPERATION:
We focus on cooperation and the ‘catch/send principle’ with a partner; ‘catch’ the ball with the racquet and ‘send’ it to your partner with correct form.
GRACE:
By adding all of these elements together (Breath, Form, Variety & Cooperation) tennis will allow one to feel that wonderful quality of life called Grace. Tennis is an activity where one may even experience a ‘State of Grace’.
